Florida Gulf Coast Eagles, How They Can Help Your Real Estate Business

Yes, It's as simple as momentum and you can have it too.  The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles an unknown, until now, college basketball team has diffinitely taken advantage of momentum in the March Madness Tournmant.

March Madness is one of the most watched events in March.  Some might argue that it's more viewed than the NBA during these few weeks.  It's an opportunity to see future NBA stars and the possibility of the underdog going to the Final Four.

This morning as I watched Good Morning America I learned of a team called the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.

Who are they and where did they come from?

A team that came from out of nowhere and I school I'd never heard of, FGCU, was founded in 1991.  Dorms are actually on the beach.  I wish I knew about this school when I was preparing for college.  This underdog team made it to the "Sweet Sixteen".  As I watched the highlights I could see that this team has momentum.  The team and the school have nothing to lose.  Go for the championship! Nothing to prove, just play hard and stay as focused as possible.  The school has already had to adjust their servers because of all of the new visitors to their website.  I admit, I went to the website to figure out who they are.

So what do the Eagles have to do with real estate?  It's simple, Momentum.  When you have momentum as a real estate agent it's easier to get more buyers and sellers.  It's easier to stay focused.  Business stays on track and you'll find that it's easier to reach your goals.  Just like the FGC Eagles you can create momentum for your business.

So how do you create momentum?

1. Write out your plan for 2013 -   # of listings and # of sales.  Put it in large print where you can view it every day.

2.  Plan out your work week -   When will you prospect, do paperwork and follow up on current business and future business.  Yes, use your calendars.  Your calendar should sink with your smart phone, iPad or tablet.

3. Find a mentor -  We need people in our lives that help us stay on track and point us in the right direction.  Make sure your inner circle are people that will encourage and motivate you.

4. Know the signs of momentum -  When the phone starts ringing, new emails, new Facebook likes follow up.  Momentum has kicked in.

5. Invest in your future - learn something new every week or at least once a month.  Learn the new technologies.   The Y generation clients are texting and sending you messages via Facebook and twitter.  Therefore, if you're not tech savvy you could miss out on so many potential future clients.  So get tech savvy.  Don't worry, you don't have to be an expert over night.

6. Commit to your success -  Remember people who don't plan, plan to fail.  If it's going be it's up to me.  Take responsibility for your success. No one can do this for you.

Let's all watch the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.   Check out their website at http://www.fgcuathletics.com/
